QR Codes

The following are instructions written by Sarah Wallace from her QR Code Techie Breakie session last week.  Thanks Sarah for your great session!

QR Codes

Search for a YouTube video.

Click on ‘Share’ underneath the video. A URL will appear.

Click on it once to highlight it blue, then ‘command c’ (copy)

‘command v’ (paste) in the Website URL box.

Click on ‘Download QR code’ on the far right

Click on ‘OK’

The code will now be saved in your Downloads. Go to ‘Go’ – ‘Downloads’ (at the top). If you can’t see ‘Go’ click onto your desktop once. Your QR code should be at the top of your Downloads.

Drag it onto your desktop

Open a new Word document and drag and drop the code from your desktop onto the Word document. You can now add a title, picture and explanation of the code, etc.

Print it out and add it to your classroom wall for children to scan with the iPads.

See ‘Staff Disk – QR codes’ for examples and to share with other staff. Please save your document with the name of the book, site or theme for easy reference.

Children can scan the QR codes using the app ‘i-nigma’ or any QR Code reader or scanner app on the iPads.
